IS: Látið blómin tala

This photographic series emerged from my ongoing collaboration with dance artist Felix Urbina.

The project seeks to establish an embodied poetic dialogue with the viewer, serving simultaneously as an extended reflection on the themes and imagery of the experimental dance-music work “Song of the Rebel Flower”.

Through the use of analogue and experimental and experimental photographic techniques, the images explore notions of spirituality, natural forces and physical transformation. They invite the viewer to engage on a visceral level—turning the gaze inwards, towards the heart, rage and the raw terrain of personal carnality.

The images were showcased as the programme’s note for the performance and also exhibited in Iðnó as part of Reykjavik Dance Festival.
